Pedestrian Closures and Detours

Major changes to pedestrian access will be in place in the city this NYE to help manage large crowds and keep everyone safe.

  • From 10.30pm there will be no pedestrian access to Swanston Street from Hamer Hall to Collins Street, including Princes Bridge and outside Flinders Street Station.  Note: Access to Flinders Street Station will be made available post-midnight.
  • Flinders Street and Flinders Lane will also be closed to pedestrians between Elizabeth & Russell Streets.
